๐Ÿ”ฅ The #1 thing successful clients have in common.

Happy weekend to everyone!

Can we take a collective moment of gratitude, because we're all still here, in it together, and building things (even if progress is sometimes slow). I would always rather be growing and creating through hard times than standing still in comfort. Wouldn't you?

On that note: doing things is always better than thinking about doing things.

This isn't just anecdotal. We've evaluated our top performing clients over the past decade in business and the ones that consistently achieved their goals put ideas into action fast (within 90 days of strategy) and had clear outcomes in mind.

Some of the goals I'm talking about:

  1. Get acquired
  2. Gain revenue in new market verticals
  3. Raise funds
  4. Migrate customers to a new system
  5. Increase top line revenue
  6. Drove retail velocity in new store accounts

Some of the things they did quickly, respective to the above bullets:

  1. Tested various solutions for product market fit
  2. Launched new market messaging across marketing and sales
  3. Conducted outreach to investors with an MVP pitch deck and asked for feedback after every meeting
  4. Sent teasers with surveys early to learn about customer concerns and potential barriers
  5. Tested small scale (20 max/week) personalized cold outreach sequences on highly targeted accounts via Apollo
  6. Conducted direct outreach to "superfan" nano influencers to create and share recipes with info on local store locations

I am talking about brands from pre-seed startup to global, VC-backed firms. Success factors were not contingent on size, budget, industry, or any other factor.

A screenshot of a LinkedIn post from me that says: There are people doing things and then there are people criticizing people doing things.

The moral: CLEAR GOALS + BIAS TOWARD ACTION = MAGIC

(This also supports my theory that giving away free value and teaching others doesn't create more competition because most people will watch and never do. Be a doer.)

๐Ÿš€ What can you launch next week?

Results from my community tool experiments

Some updates since my post on community changes:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Course sales are up 27% since moving to Gumroad.

๐Ÿ‘‰ A lot of you said you are enjoying Brand Insiders more since the move to Circle but also said:

    • some of the groups are confusing
    • there are notification bugs
    • unclear where to "put stuff"

We're working through it all + creating new programming so bear with us! It's been a labor of love.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The August cohort is 70% full which I am so excited about! We have 9 spots left. (Hope you'll join us! If you're not sure, email me hello@kararedman.com to join the Meet & Greet on July 31!). LAST WEEK TO SIGN UP!

A screenshot of a LinkedIn post that says: We don't advocate for ourselves because it feels cringe. What if you cared more about what could happen than who would laugh?
๐Ÿ’ก
Embrace the cringe with us in the August LinkedIn cohort. 9 seats left.

What to Know This Week

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ I hosted a free event for job seekers last week (while my power was out! special thanks to Brand Insiders member Krystal for hosting me at her office). We talked about using LinkedIn to help get a job. You can catch the recorded discussion here. (If you're not a member you'll have to join first, it's free).

๐ŸŽฎ July's monthly cheat went out last weekend, and it's all about creating LinkedIn posts that attract people. Did you miss it? Subscribe here.

๐Ÿงช Trying to start a 4-day work week at your org and don't know where to start? Don't cold turkey it! Try small tests.

๐Ÿ˜‡ In a world of people taking shortcuts, do the right thing. People with integrity find each other, help each other, and hire each other.
